Since Doug Cree established the company in 1993, DC Lighting Services Ltd has developed into a compact, quality-led business with a reputation for professionalism.

 

Our new workshops which were completed in March 2012 after a fire destroyed their Keiller Estate building, now residing in West Pitkerro Industrial Estate in the east end of Dundee.

 

The new offices and workshops complete with in house training facility have allowed the company to improve quality and service to existing and new customers.

 

Every installation conforms to rigorous BS 7671 standards. The company’s success can be attributed to a skilled workforce, effective management and a high level of service support underpinned by key trading relationships. None more so than with market leaders Signify Lighting.

 

At each stage of DC Lightings growth, additional resources and staff have been brought on board with the priority to gain accreditation to the NICEIC. This was achieved in 1996 but the company has continued to expand to support the needs of it’s existing and new customers. This has enabled the company to flourish without losing its core competencies.

 

With specialist project abilities DC Lighting has known its market is UK wide, from Aberdeen Airport Car Park to Worthing Pavilion Bowling Club in the south of England.

SANDRA CREE / FINANCE & OFFICE MANAGER

 

Sandra is Doug’s wife and also happens to be our finance manager, she is in control of all financial aspects of the company. Although not trained as an accountant Sandra has trained herself to manage our Company accounts. She has built up excellent relationships with our clients over the years, and plays a major part in all aspects of the business keeping the company grounded, it’s rare for Sandra to be caught out with a misplaced invoice or a payment either coming in or going out.

 

She has a hands-on approach and is familiar site in the workshops, discussing the jobs and enjoys being part of the team.

She has a senior role in the company and works alongside and helps both Doug & Sandra with the day to day running of the office being the very pleasant voice on the phone. As Doug’s eldest daughter continuing the family theme within the business. The company image has the ‘Jennafer’ touch.

Malcolm recently retired from his post, but quickly realised that he needed something to keep him more occupied, so a return to work was greatly appreciated by both Doug & Sandra, he is normally a very calm and understanding man, with a lot of experience behind him, he understands the office environment, products, time constraints that our teams have to work too. So, when costing he has the knowledge to get the price right, keeping the client happy but still allowing a wee profit in it for the business, which is a very thin line for margin.

Jon is our most senior member and a very enthusiastic member of staff. He joined the company straight from school served his apprenticeship under Doug’s wing. He has advanced his Electrical and Management knowledge and is one of the most trusted members of the team.

 

Jon has a vast knowledge of how an installation should be done and has more recently taken full control of the maintenance side of the company’s portfolio.

JON DENNISON / SUPERVISOR ELECTRICIAN

 

Jon is our most senior member and a very enthusiastic member of staff. He joined the company straight from school served his apprenticeship under Doug’s wing. He has advanced his Electrical and Management knowledge and is one of the most trusted members of the team.

 

Jon has a vast knowledge of how an installation should be done and has more recently taken full control of the maintenance side of the company’s portfolio.

MICHAEL DUFFY / APPROVED ELECTRICIAN

 

Michael is a fully-fledged member of the family being married to Doug & Sandra’s oldest daughter Jennafer.

 

Michael is a very good approved electrician and a solutions man, his knowledge and decisive thinking when unforeseen issues require instant answers, Michael has the skill & knowledge to find the correct one. He has an excellent work ethic and can supervise any job whether working from drawings or from his on-site experience. If I was shipwrecked on an island, Michael would be my choice to be stranded with. He would get you through with a ‘just do it attitude’.

Andy has come on board and with his vast knowledge in buying and selling of electrical parts. He will become an invaluable member of our team saving money for both ourselves and our clients.

His vast experience also includes Health & Safety with his MEBOSH qualifications which adds to his overall knowledge within the company.
